Psion48 V1.45 by Xavier Galante (17/12/96) ========================================== Psion48 V1.45 has just been released. It can be downloaded from : http://members.aol.com/xgalante/psione.htm or from comp.binaries.psion or from different psion archives (look for ps48_145.zip) or mail me at xgalante@aol.com Psion48 is a scientific calculator for the Psion S3a which allows to perform calculations on any mathematical data type: reals, complex values (compound numbers), binary integers, matrix, algebraic expressions and strings. It has not been tested on S3c, but should work fine. Psion48 has the same features as the HP48,the scientific calculator from HP. Psion48 (as the HP48) works in reverse polish notation, using a stack where you put the data to manipulate. If it makes sense, you can use all functions on any data type. Main faitures of psion48 are: * a stack of unlimited size * many functions usable with all data type * a matrix editor * graphical features (plot mathematical functions) * a menu bar allowing to access nearly all functions * programming facilities (with OPL or RPL) * variable management * same functions as the HP48 * manage compound numbers, matrix and binary integers in any base and of any word size as easily as reals. Installation ------------ Copy psion48.opa in \APP (the program file) Copy psion48.rsc in \OPD (the online help) Copy ps48doc.wrd in \WRD (the complete documentation) Create the directory \OPD\PSION48 (the HOME working directory of Psion48) See ps48doc.wrd for more details. There are also examples of programs to be used with Psion48 .OPO files are examples of OPO files for Psion48, copy them in \OPD\PSION48 .OPL files are source code of OPO files CENTER.VAR is an example of RPL file. Copy it in \OPD\PSION48 I am going to maintain a repository of programmes for psion48 , written by Psion48 users. If you develop Psion48 programmes, please send them to me if you want them to be put in the repository. Note that Psion48 has been created for advanced scientific needs. If your only needs are performing simple calculations (+,*,-,/ etc), do prefer other calculators like the internal Calc or Calc3a, they are simpler to use.But if you are an HP48 user, an engineer or mathematician, Psion48 is for you.It is the only tool which allows to perform easily advanced calculations on data types like matrix or compound numbers.
